The YWCA shares how transit passes are helping their clients get to school and on the road to end the cycle of poverty.

Last year Celeste received a transit pass from the Commute for a Cause promotion. With the transportation support, it has enabled her to take interviewing classes, go to medical counseling and mental health wellness classes, and join network at health and social network events. Celeste is also working on medical administrative work, taking classes at Seattle Pacific University.

Her long term goal is to get out of the vicious cycle of poverty-currently her only source of income is from SSI. She has been out of work for a number of years to care for her family member. However, six months from now she plans to attend school as a full time student and start a career in Medical Administration.

Take a commute trip this month and we'll donate bus passes to clients like Celeste on your behalf.
