Redmond City Hall:
Mobile Bike Repairs
With a grant from Go Redmond, City of Redmond staff invite a mobile bike repair shop to come to campus before Bike Month every year. Employees drop their bike off for a quick tune up that is done while they're at work. Staff has found this to be a great way to get people who are curious about bike commuting off on the right foot, and a perfect way to keep exisiting bikers tuned up to keep on pedaling.
With their location on Willows Road, they wanted to make it easier for their employees to grab a bite to eat around town at lunch. Go Redmond helped fund a set of bicycles for their employees to use to get around. Bikes are used by employees to run errands, get to local meetings, and add a little exercise to their day and helps PlayNetwork meet their internal sustainability goals.
Horace Mann Elementary School:
Safety Gear & Rewards
With neighborhood traffic congestion at the beginning and end of the school day, Horace Mann worked to implement the SchoolPool program. Together, Horace Mann and Go Redmond staff work to encourage families to drive less to school, reducing local air pollution and giving kids a healthy, safe, and fun way to get to school. As part of the SchoolPool Program, Horace Mann hosts a Bike and Walk to School Day twice a year, and Go Redmond provides safety gear for students.
Transit Passes & Vanpool Fares
Clarisonic offers subsidized transit passes, vanpool fares, and carpooling incentives which makes a real difference to employees. By doing so, they’ve been able to encourage almost half their staff to carpool or vanpool to work. Their program makes it easier for employees to leave their car at home and makes our region a healthier and more vibrant place.
Commute Club Incentives
Bright Horizons applied for a grant to provide monthly incentives to their employees who don't drive alone to work. Once they started their incentive program they saw the rates of carpoolers go up dramatically, helping their employees save money on their commute and their business save on parking costs.
