More people walking and biking makes it safer for everyone.

Walking and biking to work are increasing in popularity in Seattle at faster rates than many other U.S. cities.  We see similar trends in Redmond as more people move to our walkable downtown or find themselves pedalling into work.

Research shows that as the number of people walking and biking increases, the fatality rate decreases.

The 2016 Alliance for Biking and Walking Benchmark Report shows that Seattle reflects that research and as our rates of active commuters go up, the incidences of fatalities are going down.

Still, it is important to practice basic safety measures if you are walking, biking, or driving.
